University goes digital to find students
The largest distance learning institution in the UK is using digital marketing campaigns from Clash-Media to recruit more candidates. The Open University is looking to generate over 4,000 new leads for its 50-plus Health and Social Care-related degrees and courses.
The OU is hoping to tap into interest among people unable to find places in other universities due to record numbers of applications. Clash-Media has previous experience working for IT career training course provider Computeach and its US operation runs USHigherLearning.com for people looking for new careers in further education.
Kevin Rice, UK managing director of Clash-Media, says: “Daily news reports about job cuts and redundancies are making young people really consider the best higher education route to take. People are now looking towards the more stable industries, such as healthcare, as a real option for long-term career development.
He adds: “With our Online Lead Generation campaigns, we ensure that all leads are put through our strict quality processes to ensure that only the relevant ones are passed on. The initial brief was to provide over 4,000 new and relevant potential candidates for The Open University and the beauty of Online Lead Generation means that we are able to do so quickly – which can then result in rapid personal follow up – increasing the chance of conversion.”
